There are times where there are wedding celebrations goes way beyond the capacity of just a wedding photographer. I called out Andy one of those nights, and asked if he would be interested to team up to cover a sikh wedding which was was happening in October. He nodded. Jolly fellow, I wouldn’t been able to pull off such a feat without his generous help. I know I could depend on his calibre to deliver stunning photography that would have wow the world.
This is my entry to what we decided to post some photographs from the wedding celebration. You may find his blog entry over at Andy’s blog.
Below are series of photographs taken by yours truely and I’ll try to explain what the photos are all about.

In the middle of the Mayian ceremony where the Hareen was showered with mustard oil on her face, arms and legs.

The final moments of the ceremony. Hareen’s family put as much of the remaining mustard on herself. Hareen’s mom, together with her uncle accompany Hareen back to her home.

The Mehndi, Hareen’s hands and legs were painted with henna.

Jaggo - One of Hareen’s family lady dresses up as a man teasing the girls around the party.

Chunddha Ceremony follows on the next morning after Sangeet. The ceremony is performed by the maternal uncle and aunt of the bride. The chunddha which is a set of red and cream ivory bangles are put on by Hareen’s family.

Saying goodbyes to family. Hareen kisses her dad while exiting to the bridal car.

Hareen & Sudesh, one of my final shot at Sudesh’s home. The ceremonies are over, and I packed up after.
A sikh wedding, indeed, a very joyous, colorful, and beautiful to photograph. It’s an experience that I cannot have enough. It’s tough work though, and I bet Andy felt the same as well. Tough work, and long hours. Thank you Andy for being such patient with the whole event.
Some photographs that immediately caught my attention when I load them into my library. I just came back from a 3 hour night drive from Pangkor Laut last night. It was a great session. Aight, hope more posting about Simon & Ada coming soon. Have a safe and pleasant journey back to Hong Kong and then England.
