It’s end of August, and I am having my break

August 25th, 2008

Last weekend, a couple of mates scheduled a weekend gateaway over at Melaka for food. Yummy yummy food. Had a blast. I didn’t really take many photographs, but here are some to show.

Stick no bill. Yes, good. People actually follow rules! There isn’t any bills on this big mural. It’s taken off a elongated house.

Lifestyle in Melaka. While looking up 2nd floor at one of the melaka houses near jonker street.

I know, these photos has nothing much which symbolises melaka, but heck, i thought they are just nice photos.

I’ll be away soon, and will be back September 3rd. So, if my emails are coming in slow, please be patient. This is so I can come back afresh and be with you all to shoot your wedding soon!

Behind the scene Louis Pang Workshop

July 1st, 2008

When Louis Pang announced From Ordinary to Extra Ordinary in January 08, I was stoked. With a heartbeat, I registered, and made the payment, and didn’t look back since.

Fast forward 6 months later, here I was, spent 2 1/2 days weekend with 22 other great photographers and Louis and his team. It was what it was - the way I hope it would be. Meeting so many many brilliant photographer in this business, learning what we all have so much passion for.

Here are some shots taken during the workshop. These photographs are classroom work during the workshop and they are not my part of my portfolio, just so you know :).

While recreating one of Louis Pang’s shot.

*ehem*. - Martina , Grace, Amy and back of louis, Anna posing

While louis explaining one of his slides. Which of cos, in his words, I saw this really beautiful side light. Oh my god louis, you gotta stay there, don’t move. The light is sooo beautiful… :)

A session using natural lightsource to lit up the subject.

Martina trying to get some malaysia sun off her face, while photographing.

The infamous acrobatic move by all photographers. The things we do for a great shot!

This was in the midst of Louis posing Lorraine, our model.

The 2nd day shoot out where we drag our models for shoots everywhere. Let me tell you this, I must say all the models did a wonderful job. I can’t help but thinking how much pressure they were in having 23 big guns pointing at them, giving our monkey talks to make them kiss elegently , yada yada. This photo was not pose by me.

This was taken during my turn of directing the models. Oh gosh, I couldn’t even photograph people standing straight before this, and look at me now. Oh, I am so proud!

This was when louis took charge, same location, same model. Must have sprinkle some stardust to the models when suddenly they just fall in to this beautiful frame. I am so envy already! Argh…

Commondos at war. Nikons and canons.

Such a great outing, such great workshop. It has been a great weekend altogether. I am so looking forward for my next wedding shoot.

It’s been the blast gang. Thank you Louis for putting this together and your help in pushing us to be better. The rest of the gang, you’ve made the workshop so happening, we didn’t want to go off until the team at Click Magazine fell dead silence when Zach, Nigel and I stop yacking. We knew it was then time to go off! :).
