Harpreet & Sukhbir

July 9th, 2007

Being living in Malaysia for all my life now, I can’t be more delighted to be able to learn the diverse cultures and traditions of other fellow Malaysian who are not Chinese as I am. My job, a Wedding Photographer allows me to venture into different ceremonies, be it my own roots, and other races & religion.

I had my first taste of Sikh Wedding. I can only say, it was fantastic FANTASTIC and extremely rewarding experience.

It’s the World’s dubbed Happy Day, Lucky day.. you name it, it was the happiest moment for both Harpreet & Sukhbir as they finally celebrate their Wedding Day on the July 7th 2007!

The ceremonies started midweek, where idealwedding was delegated the task to cover the Bride’s side of the wedding. I was on location to shoot her pre-wedding dinner.

That follows by the Oil Ceremony on the eve of the wedding day. The oil ceremony started early in the morning, with family and friends were at the bride’s house to make her up.

The decoration prior to the event. A pair of lovely dove in the making surrounding a heart.

These were the ingredients use to make up the bride.

Getting ready.

After catching up with some of the bride’s aunt, I found out that the oil ceremony was an ancient way to beautify the bride & groom as lipsticks, mascara and et cetera were non existance.

The bride’s female family & friends will shower her with a touch of oil, and the yellow thinggy, on her face.

The wedding day started out early. The preparation was simple yet elegant.

The Henna was drawn the afternoon before. It is a work of art. You just have to appreciate how detail and beautiful it is.

Skip the story short, the wedding day ceremony took place in a Sikh Temple. This photo is when the bride enters the temple.

After the elaborate event at the temple, we left for lunch at Renaissance Hotel.

It was a week’s affair, and there are simply too many photographs to be featured. I like a lot of them. I have trouble selecting my favourites! 1000s of photos, or 2000s .. ah, I lost count!

It was an amazing experience to be able to be part of the wedding.

My warmest congratulations & well wishes to you Harpreet & Sukhbir.

We at idealwedding thank you for letting us be part of your auspicious celebrations.
